2. Data We Collect

Lens Battery does not collect or transmit any data to any server. The only information the app reads or stores is:

• Your device's current battery level — read from the Android system API and used solely to render the overlay arc. This value is never stored or transmitted.
• Overlay settings (position, size, color theme, arc style, background fill) — stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences.

No personal information and no usage analytics are collected by us. Crash data is collected via Firebase Crashlytics as described in section 4.

3. Battery Data

Lens Battery reads your battery level to display it visually on screen. This data:

• Is read from the Android system in real time and used only for rendering
• Is never written to disk or a database
• Is never transmitted over a network
• Is never shared with any third party

4. Crash Reporting

Lens Battery uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to automatically collect crash reports when the app encounters an unhandled error. This helps us identify and fix stability issues. The following data may be collected:

• Stack traces and error details at the time of the crash
• Device model, Android version, and app version
• Crash timestamp and app state at the time of the crash
• A randomly generated installation ID (not linked to your identity)

This data is sent to Google's servers and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Crash reports do not include your name, email address, battery level, or overlay settings.

5. Permissions

Lens Battery requests the following Android permissions:

• Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) — required to draw the floating overlay on top of other applications and the home screen.
• Foreground service — required to keep the overlay running while the app is in the background. A persistent notification is shown while the overlay is active, as required by Android.
• Receive boot completed — optionally used to restore the overlay after a device restart if it was active when the device was shut down.

None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit data.

6. In-App Purchases and Advertising

Lens Battery has no in-app purchases and displays no advertisements. The app is completely free with no monetisation of any kind.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All app settings are stored locally on your device. You can reset them within the app, or uninstall Lens Battery to remove all locally stored data entirely.

If you have Google backup enabled on your device, your overlay settings may be backed up to your Google account and restored automatically when you reinstall the app. To prevent this, you can disable Google backup for Lens Battery in your device settings, or disable Google backup entirely under Settings → Google → Backup.

We have no ability to delete data on your behalf as we do not have access to it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at latenightcoffee.dev/lens-battery/privacy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
